and early thoughts on Championship Sunday
It was an amazing Divisional weekend, particularly the book-ended OTs. More on that below.
EARLY CHAMPIONSHIP SUNDAY THOUGHTS
We will have a lot more to say next Sunday, but here is just the morning after feeling on both.
AFC: Patriots at Broncos (+5.5) - Even though this is a Championship game, Bo Nix’s injury is a major wild card. Our first thought on Jason Stidham starting this game is that the body of work is so limited in his career, very little can be concluded. The other question, when was the last time a championship game had a home underdog?
NFC: Rams at Seahawks (-2.5) - No offense to Mr. Stidham, this seems like the heavy weight fight next Sunday. They played twice and all of 3 points is the total difference of 2 games they split, and a successful 2 point conversion is the reason this game isn’t in LA.
DIVISIONAL RECAP: 2-2, 0-2 ATS, YTD - 35-16, 5-11 ATS
Bills at Broncos - Bills +1.5 - (L) - While it was an amazing game to watch, as usual for the us turnovers stood out. Not just the 2 before and after halftime that netted Denver 6 points, but also the 2 fumbles by Denver the Bills missed out on, yes one was a penalty, but it was on them! Either way, a net -4 on turnovers is a hard game to win.
49ers at Seahawks - Seahawks ML - (W)
Texans at Patriots - Texans +3.5 - (L) This game was ruled by turnovers as well, the difference was the Patriots turned them into points, the Texans turned in a shaky QB performance
Rams at Bears - Rams ML - (W) - This one is worthy of our Divisional memories theme of the weekend. Even though the Bears lost, they gave us one of the most amazing plays a football fan could dream of!
